But here\u2019s the critical part:<\/p>\n<p>That shifted the load centre from 400mm to 700mm, reducing the truck\u2019s lifting capacity from 2,000kg to just 1,429kg. That\u2019s a 571kg drop \u2014 purely due to how the pallet sits on the forks.<\/p>\n<p>Undercutting isn\u2019t unsafe by default. What\u2019s unsafe is doing it without understanding when and how to apply it.<\/p>\n<p>Key takeaways:<\/p>\n<p>Undercut only during stacking or de-stacking \u2014 never in transit<br>Pallets must be fully supported while travelling<br>Forks must carry at least two-thirds of the pallet length<\/p>\n<p>At Axisafety Training Ltd, we don\u2019t just train for the test. On this site, undercutting was a safe solution to prevent load and wall damage \u2014 but only after operators understood the risks and limits.<\/p>\n<p>Training matters. So does context.
