Last week, we delivered four MEWP training courses for different teams, and it really highlighted an important point: safety isn\u2019t just about knowing how to operate the machine, it\u2019s about understanding the risks of your specific job at height.<\/b><\/p>

Too often, we see workplaces relying on a generic risk assessment that misses the real hazards workers face.<\/p>

On paper, a scissor lift is a scissor lift \u2014 but the risks change dramatically depending on the task.<\/p>

One group were cleaners using scissor lifts to power wash walls and ceilings, dealing with slippery platforms, water spray, and reduced visibility.<\/p>

Another group were maintenance engineers removing heavy motors and fans, facing risks like overloading, falling objects, and awkward lifting at height.<\/p>

The takeaway? A generic risk assessment isn\u2019t good enough.<\/b><\/p>
