Spot the hazard before it becomes a headline...

On recent operator training we identified a serious hazard: pallet racking beams installed without locking pins.

The photos below show beams resting unsecured. This kind of hazard isn’t always visible at a glance — but in a busy warehouse, it poses a high risk of failure.

One knock from a truck or pallet and that level could drop, bringing tonnes of stock down with it.

One impact from a forklift or pallet, and the consequences can include:

✔ Collapsed racking
✔ Damaged stock and equipment
✔ Serious injury or death
✔ Operational downtime
✔ Regulatory action and reputation damage

All from a missing pin.

Robust warehouse operations manage hazards before they escalate into risk. That means:

– Weekly in-house inspections by trained personnel.
– Annual expert inspections by SARI inspectors.
– Operators trained to recognise faults — not just operate MHE.
– Clear processes for defect reporting and urgent remedial action.

At Axisafety, we don’t just deliver assessments. We embed real-world hazard recognition into every training session — because safety can’t be achieved by ticking boxes in paperwork alone.

Your racking system is mission-critical. If it’s not secure, nothing in the warehouse is.

🔍 Inspect. Identify. Act.
